Kharan: Two attacks on Pakistani forces and trucks burnt in Balochistan

Pakistani forces came under attack in Balochistan’s Kharan district on Thursday, when an armed assault and an explosion targeted their convoy. The attack occurred near Killi Karim Bakhsh on the Quetta-Kharan main highway as the forces were passing through the area, according to local sources. Casualties among the personnel were reported, and the forces were forced to withdraw following the attack. Pakistani authorities have not yet released any official details about the incident.

In a separate incident, Pakistani forces were targeted by an explosion while transporting supplies to their checkpoints in Kharan. The blast caused the forces to withdraw from the area, as local sources confirmed. The attack highlighted the ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistani forces operating in the region.

Meanwhile, armed fighters established a blockade on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road in the Gowash area. During the blockade, the fighters conducted snap checks of passing vehicles, stopping and seizing two trucks. The fighters later set the trucks on fire, destroying both vehicles and disrupting transportation along the route.

At the time of reporting, no group had claimed responsibility for either the attack on Pakistani forces or the blockade on the CPEC route. The incidents underscore the volatile security situation in Balochistan, with ongoing clashes between security forces and unidentified armed groups in the region. Authorities continue to investigate the incidents and monitor the evolving security landscape.
